Introducing Paul Parker: ‘My Friend’ Ambassador, Championing Mental Wellbeing for All

We are excited to introduce Paul Parker, our first ‘My Friend’ Ambassador. Paul brings his experience from dealing with the huge highs and lows in professional sport, that can lead to eroded mental wellbeing and the severe propensity to which this occurs and is overlooked in general. We are honoured to have Paul take on this important role, with his empathy and understanding we can tailor ‘My Friend’ to those who need it the most.
As an ex professional footballer, Paul personally experienced the strains that leaving a successful career can have on a person’s wellbeing.
Changes in career and the impact it can have on circumstances and social settings can create mental challenges which if not supported can create unwanted personal and societal burden. Paul is dedicated to listening and learning from people about their daily mental struggles. He believes, “no one can know enough, or listen enough,” when it comes to mental health struggles.
‘My Friend’ will benefit the many people who feel isolated, providing a safe place to communicate, be it a concern or for just a conversation allowing everyone to have someone to talk to when they feel like they have no one else.
